Bob Vieten, Hemet’s girls’ tennis coach for 21 years, retired after losing to El Dorado in the Southern Section Division III final Tuesday. The teams tied, 9-9, in matches, but El Dorado won in games, 87-74. . . . Manuel Andrade of Coachella Valley finished fifth in the Southern Section cross-country meet Saturday. It was the first time he had not won against Southern Section opponents this year. . . . In eight-man football, Riverside Christian’s Jeff Haddock rushed for 291 yards and scored a school-record seven touchdowns in a 62-28 victory over Heritage Christian on Saturday. Riverside Christian advanced to a Small Division final game against Antelope Valley Christian. . . . Antelope Valley Christian’s Eric Mobley rushed for 221 yards and scored three touchdowns--one on an interception return--in a 44-22 victory over Desert Christian.
