SANTA ANA —
A 5-year-old boy was listed in serious condition at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana on Thursday night after being hit by a car.
The boy, whose name was being withheld, apparently stepped into traffic from between two parked cars about 7:40 p.m. on South Minnie Street when he was struck, Santa Ana Police Lt. Jose Garcia said. The boy suffered head injuries and possibly a broken hip, Garcia said.
The 19-year-old driver of the vehicle was not cited, Garcia said.
“There’s no indication of negligence,” he said.
