Re “Murder One Takes Its Case to Monday Nights” (Calendar, Nov. 15). Moving “Murder One” to Monday nights won’t help. Caught up by the initial hype, I watched its first three or four episodes.
Unlike “Homicide” for example, “Murder One” has no humor, no sympathetic characters, no humanity--just dismal circumstances. Nothing creative about it either, such as “Homicide’s” almost Cubist cinematography.
One of the show’s early lines was prophetic: Judge to Daniel Benzali--”Don’t you sometimes make yourself sick.” Hmm. The only funny thing about the show is that Daniel Benzali looks a lot like Elmer Fudd.
The creators of the show need to take a fresh look at their early work.

A plea to all the “Murder One” ego-crats: Don’t give up! Simply change the name of the legal drama series to “Murder Rocks” or “Bochco’s Rockin’ New Years Eve Murder!” Just have Daniel Benzali, the renaissance Mr. Clean and all the other Jacoby & Meyers alumni sing their objections in their closing remarks. Presto! No. 70 on the Nielsen chart with a bullet!
