KMPC Mainstay Steve Bailey Dies at 70
Steve Bailey, longtime Los Angeles sports broadcaster and producer, died Sunday of complications following treatment for lymphoma at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. He was 70.
Bailey, born in Logan, Utah, was a mainstay at radio station KMPC for 37 years, working on Angel, Ram and UCLA broadcasts. Bailey twice was president of the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Assn.
Last year, Bailey produced an award-winning documentary on the career of Jim Healy, who died of cancer on July 22, 1994. Bailey leaves a daughter, two sons and a sister. Services are pending.
