COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL / NCAA TOURNAMENT : Long Beach State to Face Aztecs in Second Round

San Diego State, which is having one of its best seasons, plays host to Long Beach State at 7 tonight in the second round of the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament.
Sixth-seeded Long Beach (22-9), ranked 16th in one national poll, swept Colorado State on Wednesday to advance in the 12-team Mountain Regional. Fourth-seeded San Diego State (26-4) had a first-round bye.
The Aztecs, ranked 19th, won their first Western Athletic Conference title this season. It was their first conference championship of any kind since 1981-82.
