Pepperdine Gets Put Away Early

CEDAR CITY, Utah — Reggie Ingram scored 23 points and Daryl Christopher added 20 to lead Southern Utah to a 97-80 victory over Pepperdine Tuesday night.
The Thunderbirds (4-4) shot 51% and missed only two of 23 free throws.
The Waves (5-3) were led by Gavin Vanderputten with 17 points.
Southern Utah led by as many as 25 points during the game and Pepperdine could get no closer than six in the second half after trailing, 42-34, at half-time.
Russ Caton, returning after sitting out Saturday’s game at Montana State because of a family medical emergency, scored 15 points for the Thunderbirds.
He also had five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal in 23 minutes of play.
