Jennifer Brundage, the Southern Section 4-A player of the year at Irvine High in 1991, was selected as an alternate for the U.S. Olympic softball team, replacing former UCLA teammate DeeDee Weiman, who withdrew from the team for personal reasons.

In Brundage’s UCLA career from 1992-95, she set school records for home runs (20) and runs batted in (151). She batted .518 last season to help UCLA win a national championship.
