COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : ALOHA BOWL : Abdul-Jabbar Expected to Start

UCLA tailback Karim Abdul-Jabbar, recovering from the ankle injury that sidelined him for all but one play of the last two games, sat out practice Wednesday in Honolulu, but has since returned to the field. Coach Terry Donahue says he expects Abdul-Jabbar to start and go as long as he can. . . . Linebacker Tommy Bennett, also recovering from an ankle injury, is considered extremely doubtful. . . . The two teams are practicing in the morning and sightseeing after that. Although the Pearl Harbor tour has been closed because of the budget crisis that has idled many government workers, it was temporarily opened Thursday for the benefit of the players.
