More than 100 people packed a memorial service for a 2-year-old West Covina house-fire victim Tuesday, a mortuary spokeswoman said.
The family of Karla Marlene Cervera held a memorial service for the toddler at Blackman Mortuary in La Puente before her burial at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park in Covina Hills, said Cindy Camp, a spokeswoman for the mortuary.
Karla died last Wednesday, when a Christmas tree caught fire and set her house ablaze. Her aunt, Elsa Villegas, received second- and third-degree burns to her hands, face and arms in the fire. She was listed in fair condition at County-USC Medical Center on Tuesday, said Harvey Kern, a hospital spokesman.
Five children and one adult escaped the fire without serious injury.
