Three Free Classes for Seniors to Be Offered

Three free classes for senior citizens begin this month in Fullerton, Anaheim and Yorba Linda.

The classes, presented by the adult continuing education division of the North Orange County Community College District, are in astronomy, fashion and mental alertness. All begin the week of Jan. 28.

The astronomy course will explore the universe through telescopes and include a trip to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. The 18-week class will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Yorba Linda Senior Center, 4701 Casa Loma Ave.

A course titled “Staying Mentally Sharp” will focus on techniques to help improve memory, prevent mental deterioration and increase mental ability. It will meet Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. at Emerald Court, 1731 Medical Center, in Anaheim; and Wednesdays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Fullerton Senior Multi-Service Center, 340 W. Commonwealth Ave. The classes will run for 18 weeks.

A 10-week course titled “Style Redefined for the Mature Woman” will cover such topics as clothing, accessories, makeup and skin care. The class will meet Wednesdays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Morningside, 800 E. Bastanchury Road, Fullerton.
