The Palisades boys’ basketball team got 20 points from Chris Popoola in a 74-58 victory over Los Angeles, improving its mark to 17-1 and 4-0 in the Coastal Conference. The Palisades girls defeated Los Angeles, 60-24, behind Meresaina Malaki’s 22 points. They are also 4-0 in the conference and 13-4 overall. . . . Sharon Sabot scored 17 points and point guard Jenny Ho had 16 as Brentwood’s girls defeated Campbell Hall, 73-46. . . . Aaron Schiller had 11 saves in Beverly Hills’ 2-1 soccer victory over Redondo. The victory moved the Normans into sole possession of first place in the the Ocean League with a 6-2 conference record. . . . The Beverly Hills girls’ team also defeated Redondo, 2-0, and improved its record to 17-1-4, the best start in school history. Gina Stewart and Megan McKenna each scored, and Jamie Markowitz moved up from the junior varsity and earned the shutout in goal. . . . Allison Hill and Geneva Salinas each scored two goals as Westchester defeated Gardena, 6-0.
