Mater Dei Girls’ Volleyball Coach Quits

Share

Pete West announced Wednesday that he has resigned as girls’ volleyball coach at Mater Dei to pursue other career opportunities.

West led Mater Dei to a 34-9 record in two seasons at the school. The Monarchs had the most successful season in school history this fall when they finished in a three-way tie for the South Coast League title, advanced to the semifinals of the Southern Section Division I tournament and to the quarterfinals in their first appearance in a state Division I tournament.

West said he is trying to decide between coaching opportunities at the collegiate level or pursuing a career in architecture. He will continue to coach an under-18 girls’ team for the Orange County Volleyball Club.
