Basketball players Tony Hoggatts and Marcus Baldwin, declared ineligible at Cleveland High, will transfer to Redemption Christian Academy in Troy, N.Y., and gain immediate athletic eligibility, Cleveland Coach Kevin Crider said.

Both players have used up their eight semesters of high school eligibility allowed in California. They plan to transfer next week.

“It will provide us with an extra year to bring up our low grades and prove to [NCAA] Division I schools that we are worthy of playing for them,” Hoggatts said.
