Cornerback Larry Brown was in the right place at the right time twice for the Cowboys during the second half when he intercepted misdirected passes by Steeler quarterback Neil O’Donnell. His interceptions led to two Cowboy touchdowns.

Interception #1

3rd Quarter

Dallas leading, 13-7

Ball on Pittsburgh 48, third and nine for Steelers.

With O’Donnell in the shotgun, he throws to the right side of the field, but neither Steeler receiver is near. Both Andre Hastings (88) and Ernie Mills (89) cut in and the ball sails into Brown’s arms on Dallas 38. He returns the ball to the Pittsburgh 18.

Two plays later, 6:42 left in the quarter, Emmitt Smith’s touchdown makes it 20-7.

Interception #2

4th Quarter

Dallas leading, 20-17

O’Donnell is in the shotgun again and looks for Hastings (88), but there is miscommunication between them and the pass is directly to a wide-open Brown again, on the Pittsburgh 39. He returns ball to the six.

Two plays later, 3:43 left, Smith’s touchdown makes it, 27-17.
