A man, woman and a 1-year-old child were bound with duct tape and robbed in their home Thursday by a group of men who burst in and demanded cash and jewelry, police said.

Police said three men invaded the home in the 500 block of Traverse Drive about 10:10 a.m. One of them “put a gun to the adult female and threatened to kill her if she didn’t tell him where the money and jewelry were,” Sgt. Allen Huggins said.

The woman, 35, and the man, 51, were bound and blindfolded, and a police report indicates that the baby also was “bound,” Huggins said. The adults managed to break free and call police after the robbers fled.

Police are not releasing the names of the victims out of concern for their safety, he said.

The main assailant was described as Vietnamese, about 25 years old, 5 feet 7 and 140 pounds, with black hair and a black jacket. Two other men were heard but not seen by the victims, Huggins said.

Police did not know the amount of the loss, nor how the victims are related to one another.
