Woman Killed After Stepping Into Traffic
A 49-year-old woman was struck and killed early Tuesday as she darted across Beach Boulevard outside of a crosswalk, police said.
Guadalupe Gaytan of Stanton ran into oncoming traffic in the southbound lanes of Beach Boulevard about 60 yards north of 2nd Street about 6 a.m., Police Lt. Lynn Nehring said. She died at the scene.
The driver of the car, a 38-year-old Whittier resident, was not cited, Nehring said.
