Chino 59, Huntington Beach 34--Huntington Beach trailed by four at halftime, but was victimized by three three-point baskets to open the third quarter. Phouangmaly Pravongviengkham scored 11 points for Huntington Beach (11-15).
Downey 40, Century 38--Century cut a 10-point, fourth-quarter deficit to two. With 11 seconds left, Aprile Powell got a key steal, but Addie Alexander’s shot didn’t go in. The Centurions finish 21-4.
Edison 64, Pasadena 48--Marie Philman had 23 points and nine assists, and teammate Kerry O’Bric had 21 points for Edison (20-7). The Chargers play Saturday at Downey.
Marina 51, Irvine 42--Marina Coach Pete Bonny benched his starters with a five-point lead and six minutes remaining, but the reserves held on. Sonya Bryant led the Vikings (22-4) with 16 points and Kirsten Cappel and Marisa Emde each had 13 points. Jami Allred had 16 points for Irvine (14-11). The Vikings will play Cerritos.
Westminster 65, Montclair 37--The Lions (22-4) outscored Montclair, 19-3, in the first quarter and play Glendora on Saturday. Kristin Schult had 10 points for the Lions.
