Braxton’s 26 Points Spark Titans

Dee Braxton scored 26 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had five blocked shots to lead Cal State Fullerton over Nevada Las Vegas, 88-55, Sunday in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game.

Shayla Bradshaw had 25 points for the Titans and teammates Andrea Thieme and Kim Cram each scored 10 points. Loriessa Randle had 13 points to lead UNLV (3-19, 2-13).

Cal State Fullerton improves to 6-17, 3-11 in conference.

In other Big West Conference women’s basketball games:

Long Beach State 82, Hawaii 67--Long Beach State led by 17 points at the end of the first half and continued its dominance throughout the second half.

Ja’net Davis, who had 11 rebounds, scored 26 points to lead the 49ers (14-10, 9-6).

Kim Barfield and Akia Hardy, who had eight assists, each had 19 points for Long Beach State.

New Mexico State 55, UC Irvine 45--The Anteaters were only behind by one basket at the end of the first half and kept the score close until the closing minutes of the second half.

Leticia Oseguera had 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead UC Irvine (10-13, 5-9).

Anita Maxwell had 28 points to lead New Mexico State (16-9, 11-4).

In nonconference baseball:

Long Beach State 3, Washington 1--Winning pitcher Kyle Wilson had five strikeouts and gave up only two hits for Long Beach State (5-5).

Will Skett and Al Watson had doubles for the 49ers. Washington remains winless at 0-3.
