Students to Learn Fire-Prevention Tips
More than 1,000 students in the Moorpark Unified School District will learn how to prevent fires through a program funded by the National Fire Protection Administration.
A $20,000 grant will be used to train teachers at Flory and Campus Canyon schools and provide material to teach fire safety to kindergartners through fifth-graders at the two elementary schools.
The daylong training, scheduled for Thursday, will be provided by the Ventura County Fire Protection District. The grant is one of only 10 awarded nationwide for the program, which is known as “Learn Not to Burn.”
