Suspect in Robberies Eludes Police
A suspected robber eluded police during a five-hour search of city streets Thursday.
About 12:30 p.m., police saw Victor Lucio, 26, of Pacoima driving a car linked to as many as eight armed robberies. No one was hurt in any of the robberies, police said.
Lucio refused to pull over, police said. He led officers to Terra Bella Street, where he abandoned the car and fled on foot, officers said.
About 20 officers from LAPD’s canine unit and Foothill Division searched houses and businesses in a two-square block area bounded by Terra Bella and Pierce streets and Borden and Dronfield avenues, police said.
Lucio was not found. The search was called off about 5:15 p.m.
