3 Suspects Sought in Shooting Near Lodge
A Port Hueneme man was shot and killed late Saturday in front of the Elks Lodge in the 800 block of South A Street in Oxnard, police officials said.
Daniel Garcia Lara, 18, had been attending a birthday party at the Elks Lodge prior to the shooting, officials said.
Leaving the party, Garcia Lara was confronted by three assailants, whom police described as Latino males in their late teens wearing dark clothing. One of the assailants fired several shots, hitting him in the chest once, police said.
Garcia Lara was able to walk back to the Elks Lodge, where he collapsed.
He was pronounced dead of a gunshot wound to the chest at St. John’s Regional Medical Center on Sunday at 12:05 a.m., officials said. Police have made no arrests in the case.
