NBA Sues Motorola: The Schaumburg, Ill.-based company has been sued by the National Basketball Assn. over Motorola Inc.’s NBA Sports Trax Service, which provides scores and game highlights over pagers. The NBA accuses Motorola of copyright infringement, misappropriation, false advertising and unlawful retransmission and interception of communications. The suit also names Sports Team Analysis & Tracking Systems, a privately held Skokie, Ill., company that assembles and sells NBA game information. The NBA is asking a New York federal judge to order that Motorola stop selling the NBA information to pager users. Motorola did not have immediate comment on the suit. Company shares fell $1.625 to $52.875 on the New York Stock Exchange.
