2 Charged with Safety Violations
Two San Fernando Valley men who own a 295-room hotel near downtown Los Angeles were charged with 25 violations of health, building and safety codes Friday, officials said.
Harold Meskin, 41, of Burbank and Michael J. Bolasna, 46, of Sherman Oaks are scheduled to be arraigned in Los Angeles Municipal Court on April 11, said Deputy City Atty. Lawrence P.V. Punter.
Punter said tenants in the hotel were living in rooms with broken windows, no heat, plugged toilets and damaged smoke detectors. Also charged were co-owners, the Rothman Family Trust and Lota Grn Inc., he said.
