Woman, 94, Killed in Traffic Collision
A 94-year-old Fountain Valley woman was killed Sunday after her car was broadsided by another vehicle, police said.
Police said the accident occurred about 4:30 p.m. at Bushard Street and Yorktown Avenue.
Anna Fowler was traveling south on Bushard when she apparently failed to yield to oncoming traffic as she tried to turn on to Yorktown, police said. Fowler’s 1993 Nissan Sentra was struck on the right side by a 1991 Dodge Dynasty, which was traveling northbound on Bushard, police said.
Fowler was transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of Dodge was identified as Myriam Telles, 46, of Huntington Beach. She was taken by paramedics to Huntington Beach Medical Center with injuries to her left knee, left hand and neck, police said.
