Baseball broke a ticket-price barrier when the Arizona Diamondbacks announced their best seat will cost $50. The Diamondbacks, who begin play in 1998, will have 900 premium seats behind home plate at the $50 price. The top ticket price in the National League this season is $30 for Florida Marlin club seats. The top American League price is $25 for the best seats in Baltimore and Oakland. . . . A’s first baseman Mark McGwire will have to stay off his right foot for two weeks after tearing connective tissue. . . .
