Seahawks Have Deal With Anaheim to Practice

Anaheim officials said Saturday that the city has reached a one-year lease agreement, with options to extend up to three years, with the Seahawks to use the former Rams Park as their practice facility and offices.

The Seahawks are expected to begin off-season training at the newly named Anaheim Training Facility on Monday.

The agreement is expected to be formally approved by the Anaheim City Council at its next meeting March 26.

The Denver Broncos have signed free agent defensive back Erik McMillan, 29, who is trying to make a comeback after two seasons out of football. . . . The Indianapolis Colts signed free agent offensive guard Doug Widell, who played at Detroit last season.

Golf

A soft course and a still day led to low scores in the third round of the Bay Hill Invitational, in which Guy Boros shot a six-under-par 66 for a share of the lead with Patrick Burke.

Boros birdied four of the last five holes at the Orlando, Fla., course to get to 10-under 206 and into a tie with Burke, who shot a 69. Jeff Maggert was another stroke behind.

Jeff Sluman, two shots behind as play began, determined that he had taken an improper drop on No. 17 after hitting his tee shot in the water in the second round and disqualified himself for having signed an incorrect scorecard.

Danielle Ammaccapane had three birdies in the last four holes and shot a six-under-par 66 for a two-stroke lead over Cathy Johnston-Forbe in the LPGA Ping-Welch’s Championship at Tucson. Ammaccapane is at 12-under-par 204. . . . Miguel Angel Jimenez of Spain recovered from a double bogey at the 13th hole to shoot a two-under 70 for a 15-under 201 and a one-shot lead over Colin Montgomerie after the third round of the Desert Classic at Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

Motor Sports

Wayne Taylor, Jim Pace and Eric Van de Poele combined to drive an Oldsmobile Aurora-R&S; Mk3 to victory in the 12 Hours of Sebring at Florida.

The victory was the manufacturer’s first at Sebring, and the first by an American car since 1969 in the nation’s oldest sports car race.

Italy’s Alex Zanardi led a 1-2-3 finish by Honda-powered cars in Brazil and grabbed the pole position for the Rio 400, the first CART Indy car race in South America, with a fast lap of 167.084 mph around the 1.8-mile oval.

Blaine Johnson led top fuel qualifying, Al Hofmann funny cars and Warren Johnson pro stock for today’s finals in the NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville, Fla.

Miguel Duhamel, a Canadian who lives in Los Angeles, held off Scott Russell by less than a wheel length to win the Daytona 200 motorcycle race in Florida.

Manuela di Centa of Italy won her second World Cup cross-country ski title by finishing fifth in the women’s 30-kilometer season finale in Oslo. . . . Annamarie Thomas of the Netherlands was timed in 1 minute 21.01 seconds and edged Christine Witty of West Allis, Wis., by 0.24 seconds to win the women’s 1,000 meters at the World Single-Distance Speedskating Championships at Hamar, Norway. . . . Eric Bergoust of Missoula, Mont., had the best second jump at Altenmarkt, Austria, to lead Americans into the top four spots in a World Cup aerials meet.
