Jaclyn Easton is the host of "Log On U.S.A.," which airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on KIEV-AM 870

Starting at 6 p.m. on Monday, live interactive coverage of the Academy Awards will be playing on computer screens nationwide. This year’s choices for online festivities during the Oscar telecast are abundant. Here are the highlights:

America Online’s uproarious Heckler’s area will be in full swing. Members--along with Heckler’s creators, known as the Wise Guys--can disparage everything from Oscar fashions to the inevitable protracted acceptance speeches. Keyword: hecklers.

For more straightforward coverage on AOL, ABC Television, which is broadcasting the ceremonies, will have representatives in the press room to field questions directly from members to winners. Keyword: oscars, then select auditorium.

A similar option can be found on CompuServe, where Hollywood columnists Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith will interact with Oscar recipients. The gossip duo will also be reporting on happenings inside the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion that the TV audience doesn’t see. Go: convention.

“Policing the Academy: Prodigy’s Fashion Cops” highlights the service’s live coverage. Members will be able to participate in a fashion poll and a live chat room during the ceremony. Jump: oscars.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization behind the Oscars, promises a nonstop flow of information via its World Wide Web site. Content-rich pages will present transcripts of all the acceptance speeches, transcripts of all the questions and answers from the press room and an exclusive peek at the Governors Ball at https://oscars.guide.com.

The World Wide Web is also available through America Online (keyword: web), CompuServe (go: internet) and Prodigy (jump: web).
