A freeway shooting early Monday left one driver dead, three passengers injured and the eastbound San Bernardino Freeway closed for at least five hours in Baldwin Park.

Police said they have few leads, except that the suspects were driving a red, four-door Ford, said Sheriff’s Deputy Carrie Stuart.

The driver, Patrick R. Partridge, 22, was dead when paramedics arrived at 3:15 a.m. at the Baldwin Park Boulevard offramp. He had been heading home to Lucerne Valley from Los Angeles, Baldwin Park Police Sgt. Bob Delgado said.

When Partridge was shot, his white Hyundai hit a tree, injuring three passengers--all men in their 20s, police said.

One man was in critical condition and could not speak, and Delgado said police had been unable to get detailed information from the other two. Police refused to give their condition or say where they were hospitalized.

Officials also said they believe the shooting was gang-related.
