Rob Kenny’s two third-period goals and assist led the Ice Dogs to a 4-2 victory over the Milwaukee Admirals in front of an announced 1,107 at the Sports Arena on Wednesday.

John Byce added three assists for the Ice Dogs (31-29-12), who moved into sole possession of sixth place in the International Hockey League’s Western Conference playoff race.

Patrik Augusta and Jozef Cierny each added a goal for Los Angeles. It was the first goal since Feb. 9 for Cierny, who sat out 12 games with an ankle injury and was scoreless in his first five games back.

In the last two games, the Ice Dogs have scored seven third-period goals to break open tied games, and have gotten inspired play from Kenny.

“I’ve maintained that he has really played well for the past month,” Ice Dog Coach John Van Boxmeer said. “He missed all of last season with a shoulder injury, so he may just be getting his rhythm back.”
