Westlake’s Aylsworth Earns Honor

Guard Steve Aylsworth, who led Westlake High’s basketball team to the second round of the playoffs, has been selected to the All-Southern Section Division II first team.

Aylsworth, a 6-foot senior, averaged 18.7 points and 4.1 assists for the Warriors (16-9), the Marmonte League co-champions. He was the only first-team selection from the region.

Ventura senior forward Charles Dixon, who averaged 17.9 points and eight rebounds, was a second-team choice.

Volleyball

Royal High setter Heidi Ferguson has committed to Hawaii-Hilo.

Ferguson was most valuable player in the Marmonte League last season and was a second-team All-Southern Section Division I selection.

Opposite hitter Cheyenne Ellis of Notre Dame has committed to Westmont College.

Ellis was a second-team Mission League selection.
