DiPoma a Big Hit in Bottom of 9th

Frank DiPoma hit a three-run home run in the ninth inning to give Chatsworth a 7-4 victory over San Fernando in a Northwest Valley Conference baseball game Tuesday at Chatsworth.

DiPoma had four hits and drove in five runs and winning pitcher Greg Wold (3-0) hit a solo home run in the sixth inning for the Chancellors (9-3, 4-3 in conference play). Wold, who allowed 13 hits, struck out eight and walked three to give Chatsworth its fourth consecutive victory.

Alex Esqueda had a home run for San Fernando (6-6, 2-5).

Granada Hills 2, Taft 0--Jessie Carranza threw a one-hitter and nine strikeouts as the Highlanders defeated the Toreadors (5-7, 3-4) in a Northwest Valley Conference game at Taft.

El Camino Real 11, Cleveland 1--Shaun Fishman pitched a four-hitter and struck out 12 as the visiting Conquistadores (7-5, 3-4) exploded for 10 runs in the fourth inning to defeat the Cavaliers (7-5, 3-4) in a Northwest Valley Conference game.

Kennedy 4, Birmingham 0--Derek Morse (6-0) scattered three hits, striking out nine and walking one in five innings for the Golden Cougars (11-1, 7-0) in a Northwest Valley Conference victory at Kennedy.

Royal 13, Agoura 4--The Highlanders (11-1, 4-1) had five doubles, including a pair by Kevin Mellinger, in a Marmonte League victory at Royal.

Hart 11, Redwood 5--Jason Westemeir pitched 5 2/3 innings of four-hit relief, allowing one earned run while striking out eight and walking three as the Indians (11-3) won a pool play game at the Visalia tournament. Earlier, Hart defeated Tulare Union, 12-2.

Buena 11, Hueneme 9--Eddie Loya had a pair of doubles as the Bulldogs (8-4, 3-3) edged the Vikings (2-10, 2-4) in a Channel League game at Buena.

Santa Paula 3, Moorpark 1--Paz Olson-Pacheco (4-0) threw a two-hitter, struck out five and walked three for the Cardinals (8-0-1, 5-0-1) in a Frontier League game at Moorpark. Justin Ames (2-3) threw a one-hitter for Moorpark (5-5, 3-3).

Quartz Hill 4, Highland 1--Travis Allen (4-1) pitched five scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out six, and Bryan Garcia allowed one hit in two innings of relief to earn his fifth save for the Rebels (8-3, 2-0) in a Golden League game at Quartz Hill.

Antelope Valley 7, Ridgecrest Burroughs 0--Jeremy Holiday pitched his second complete game of the season, striking out 12 and walking two in a three-hit shutout for the Antelopes (8-5, 1-1).

Saugus 9, Valencia 6--Nate Wright homered on the Foothill League game’s first pitch for the Centurions (8-5, 4-2) at Saugus.

Santa Barbara 10, Oxnard 2--Losing pitcher Chris Novellino tossed an eight-hitter and had two hits as the Yellowjackets (1-9, 0-6) were routed by the Dons (8-2, 4-2) in a Channel League game at Oxnard.

Calabasas 9, Santa Clara 2--Darin Reisman drove in five runs with three hits, including a three-run home run in the first as the Coyotes (7-1-2, 5-0-1) beat the Saints (4-6, 2-4) in a Frontier League game at Calabasas.

Bell-Jeff 2, Murphy 0--Senior left-hander David Reyes threw a no-hitter for the Guards (1-8-1, 1-4) in the Santa Fe League game. Reyes (1-4) also had the only hit.

Faith Baptist 6, Kilpatrick 5--Daniel Cuellar’s second suicide squeeze of the nonleague game scored Ryan Long with the winning run in the seventh inning for the host Contenders (4-3-1).

Cleveland 9, San Fernando 7--Tammy Wilhite had a home run, a triple, a single and four runs batted in as the Cavaliers (3-3, 2-3) won a Northwest Valley Conference game at Cleveland.

Van Nuys 5, North Hollywood 2--Regina Perez allowed five hits, struck out three and walked one as the Wolves (7-4, 3-1) won a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Van Nuys. Kim Rabas homered for North Hollywood (5-7, 1-3).

El Camino Real 9, Chatsworth 1--Tami Jones tossed a two-hitter and allowed one unearned run while striking out five and walking two for the Conquistadores (9-3, 4-1) in a Northwest Valley Conference victory at Chatsworth.

Village Christian 5, Western Christian 0--Jesse Leivo (7-0) pitched a three-hitter and struck out nine as the Crusaders (11-3) won the Bakersfield Community Christian tournament.

Calabasas 6, Santa Clara 0--Christy Culver (3-2) struck out five, walked three and allowed one hit for the Coyotes (6-4-1, 5-2) in a Frontier League victory over the Saints (6-4, 2-4) at Santa Clara.
