Supervisor Sponsors Meetings on Fire Safety
Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has initiated a series of meetings for communities in fire zones. Officials from the county Fire Department, the brush clearance office and Arson Watch are scheduled to meet in Malibu tonight and June 24 in Topanga Canyon.
Those who attend the fire preparedness meetings also will have a chance to learn about county-wide improvements since the 1993 fires.
Tonight’s meeting is at 7 in the Hughes Research Labs Auditorium, 3011 Malibu Canyon Road. On June 24, the meeting is at 7 p.m. in the Topanga Elementary School Auditorium.
