The city of Westlake Village is taking registrations for its summer recreation program held at White Oak Elementary School.

The drop-in program, open to children 5 to 12 years old who live or go to school in the city, includes indoor and outdoor sports, games, entertainment and crafts. Special activities will be provided for children 10 to 12.

“It’s a great way for kids to spend a summer in a very well-organized and supportive environment,” said City Manager Ray Taylor.

“There is a lot of structured time, and also time that is not so structured. And there’s lots of fun involved and lessons to learn.”

Sessions are from 1 to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays beginning Monday and continuing through Aug. 9 at the school, 31761 Village School Road.

A full six-week program is $45, and each three-week session is $25. Participants may choose to attend any or all days of each session, Taylor said.

Registration may be made by mail (Conejo Recreation and Park District, 155 E. Wilbur Road, Thousand Oaks 91360) or at the school on the first day of the session.
