Police are seeking clues in the death of a 35-year-old man found stabbed inside a boarding house, authorities said Friday.

Detectives found the man, whose name was withheld pending notification of his family, in his bathtub about 1 p.m. Thursday with a fatal wound to the torso, Sgt. Bob Clark said.

The man apparently had struggled with another person in the patio area, where blood was found, Clark said. The argument then continued into the house, where he was stabbed.

The victim was one of 12 people who shared a three-bedroom house in the 500 block of South Spruce Street, Clark said. The man had been living in the home for about six months, police said.

Investigators want to question one of the roommates, who has not been seen at the house since the stabbing, Clark said.

A knife believed to have been the murder weapon was discovered nearby, Clark said. There was no sign of robbery or forced entry.
