Soccer Offered for Special-Needs Kids
A soccer program for children with special needs in Moorpark and Simi Valley is being offered by the Moorpark chapter of the American Youth Soccer Organization.
The Very Important Person (VIP) league will teach children with mental and physical challenges the basics of soccer with an emphasis on self-esteem, team play and having fun.
The volunteer coaches--who have experience with soccer and special-needs children--will hold one practice session per week, with games Saturdays at Arroyo Vista Recreation Center.
The program is open to children ages 5 to 18. Registration is $55, which includes uniforms, awards, pictures and insurance.
Scholarships are available.
