Share

Representatives from more than 40 state and local government and community agencies are expected to be on hand to distribute information and answer questions at the 16th annual State Government Day Saturday at Panorama Mall.

The Department of Motor Vehicles, the California Highway Patrol, Boys & Girls Club, Wildlife Waystation and the Valley Community Clinic will be among the organizations setting up displays and handing out information at the free event, which is sponsored by Assembly Democratic leader Richard Katz.

This year for the first time the Department of Animal Regulation will bring its Pet Mobile and cats and dogs will be available for adoption.

Louise Marquez, manager of Panorama Mall, said the purpose of State Government Day is to help the public learn about the myriad resources and programs that exist in the community but which many people are unaware of. “People can pick up brochures and have their questions answered face to face,” Marquez said.

State Government Day activities are scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Panorama Mall, 8401 Van Nuys Blvd. in Panorama City.
