A Camarillo man who led deputies on a car and foot pursuit Wednesday night was taken into custody after police shot at his vehicle, authorities said.

A sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull over the 21-year-old man about 7:30 p.m. after recognizing that he had $50,000 in outstanding warrants, including for grand theft auto and possession of narcotics, deputies said.

The man, who was not identified by police, led the deputy on a chase from the 100 block of Euclid Avenue to Calle La Sombra. At one point, the car pulled to the side of the road and the deputy parked in front of it. But the man reversed and sped off.
