Story of Women (Bravo Monday at 8 p.m.) Quite possibly Claude Chabrol’s finest film, a mature, masterful 1988 work of much subtlety and complexity in which the fate of a small-town abortionist (Isabelle Huppert) reveals the corruption and hypocrisy of occupied France.
Ride in the Whirlwind (TBS Monday at 11:35 p.m.) A striking 1966 Monte Hellman western, starring Cameron Mitchell and co-starring Jack Nicholson (who also wrote the script). The story is about three cowboys in flight, who have been mistaken for outlaws.
