Two Mission Viejo Divers Win Zone Championships

Two divers from the Mission Viejo Nadadores won titles at the Junior Olympic Zone C championships Friday at Woodlands, Texas.

Erica Sorgi won the girls’ 14-15 three-meter springboard competition and Raymond Vincent took first in the boys’ 14-15 one-meter springboard competition.

Both qualify for the National Junior Olympics, which are Aug. 5-11 in Coral Springs, Fla.

Kenny Nash, a senior outfielder who hit .538 for Calvary Chapel High last spring, will attend Point Loma Nazarene next fall, Coach Joe Walters said.

Nash, who also drove in 25 runs, was a four-year starter at Calvary Chapel.
