Pay-by-Phone Plan for Property Taxes Studied
- Share via
Residents may soon be able to pay property tax bills by telephone if the Board of Supervisors approves a proposal Tuesday by county staff members.
Under the plan, the county treasurer-tax collector’s office would establish a special phone line that would allow property owners to settle their taxes with either MasterCard or Discover credit cards.
County officials are talking about eventually expanding the telephone program to Orange County’s courts, allowing people to pay off tickets and fines with plastic too.
Supervisors will discuss the tax payment plan at their Tuesday meeting, which begins at 9:30 a.m. at the County Hall of Administration, 10 Civic Center Plaza, in Santa Ana.
