JetHawks Sink, 5-3 on Santana’s Error
A fifth-inning error by pitcher Marino Santana enabled the Visalia Oaks to score the go-ahead run Sunday night in a 5-3 victory over the JetHawks at Recreation Park.
The Oaks added an insurance run in the seventh against Santana (7-13), who gave up four earned runs and had nine strikeouts in seven innings.
The JetHawks (20-24), whose three-game winning streak was snapped, had their best chance in the top of the seventh, but they left runners at second and third after Chris Dean was called out on strikes to end the inning.
Jesus Marquez and Mike Lanza each had two of the JetHawks’ six hits.
