Friedel’s a Winner in Crew Debut

Goalkeeper Brad Friedel made his Major League Soccer debut a winning one Saturday as the Columbus Crew (8-16) rallied from a 2-0 deficit for a 3-2 win over Washington D.C. United (10-14) in front of 18,587 at Ohio Stadium.

Columbus got goals from Ricardo Iribarren, Brian McBride and Adrian Paz in a five-minute span for its second win in a row under interim coach Tom Fitzgerald.

Dallas 2, Tampa Bay 1--Leonel Alvarez and Brian Haynes scored as the Burn (15-9) won its fifth in a row, in front of 12,503 at the Cotton Bowl. The Mutiny (13-10) got a league-leading 18th goal from Roy Lassiter.
