Open Drills Target New Ticket-Holders

Rebuilding their season-ticket base may prove a tougher task for the Kings than rebuilding their team. Their efforts to reward loyal fans--and woo new ones--will continue tonight at the Forum with a practice that will be open to season ticket-holders and prospective season ticket-holders.

At the first renewal deadline, only 2,600-2,700 of last season’s 5,500 season tickets had been renewed. Since then, the renewal level has reached about 70%, according to club President Tim Leiweke. In addition, about 500 new season tickets have been sold.

Leiweke also said the club’s promise to refund money to season ticket-holders if they were unhappy after the first game has been extended to 10 games. However, that applies only to current holders who renewed.

Rob Blake (elbow infection) plans to skate lightly today for the first time since he was hospitalized for treatment last Thursday.
