Moysa and Beschen Win Longboard Heats

San Clemente’s Geoff Moysa and Shane Beschen posted victories in their heats of the longboard competition during the fourth day of the Body Glove SurfBout at Lower Trestles.

South African Dean Seppings, who posted the highest score in the bodyboard division, and Alistair Taylor of South Africa advanced to Saturday’s main event.

In the women’s division, San Clemente’s Jorja Harmon and Tahiti’s Patricia Rossi advanced to the quarterfinals.

After a day off, the main round in the shortboard division will continue this morning. The longboard main event and women’s quarterfinals will follow. The competition concludes Sunday.
