Too bad the Cal State Northridge football team doesn’t have Nebraska on its schedule this year, because easy math proves the Matadors would probably beat the Cornhuskers by about a touchdown.

Follow closely:

Northridge defeated New Mexico State by 33 points, and Texas El Paso defeated New Mexico State by seven, so Northridge is 26 points better than UTEP.

UTEP lost to San Jose State by a point, so Northridge is 25 points better than San Jose State.

San Jose State lost to California by 20, so Northridge is five points better than Cal.

Cal beat Nevada by 18, so Northridge is 23 points better than Nevada.

Nevada lost to Oregon by 14, so Northridge is nine points better than Oregon.

Oregon lost to Arizona State by 21, so Arizona State is 12 points better than Northridge.

Arizona State beat Nebraska by 19, meaning Northridge must be seven points better than Nebraska.

Big goof: The most common mistake made when referring to the Western State Conference is turning “State” into “States.”

Now the WSC is perpetuating the gaffe.

WSC passes to 1996-97 athletic events identify the conference as, you guessed it, Western States Conference.
