Dallas defeated the Splash, 6-5, in the first round of the Continental Indoor Soccer League playoffs Friday at Reunion Arena to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series.

Tatu scored the game-winning goal for Dallas with 2 minutes 40 seconds left in the game on an assist from David Doyle. Doyle got the ball 30 feet out and fed it to Tatu at the left side of the goal, where he headed it in to clinch the victory. Tatu, who has scored a point in 118 consecutive games, finished the game with two goals for the Sidekicks. Doyle also had two goals.

Anaheim was led by Bernie Lilavois, who picked up his first CISL hat trick. The series moves Monday to Anaheim and will return to Dallas, if necessary, on Wednesday.
