$4.8 Million Set Aside for Streets, Sidewalks
City streets and sidewalks will soon get $4.8 million worth of repairs with money budgeted for capital improvements.
Saying that many roads are in bad shape, officials made a commitment recently to complete repairs before starting on other projects.
“We are in dire need of paying some attention to our streets and sidewalks,” City Councilman Juan M. Garcia said.
Mayor Steven C. Anderson said that the repairs will be “the biggest street contract that we’ve ever seen in this city.”
Specific projects will require council approval before work begins, officials said.
