“Tourism for Tomorrow” is the theme of next year’s California Conference on Tourism to be held Feb. 4-5 in Sacramento.

The annual conference gives tourism industry officials a chance to rub shoulders with their peers and twist the arms of their elected officials in the capital.

But the most popular activity may be those late-night “network” sessions scheduled at the nightclub of the Hyatt Regency Sacramento. After all, tourism is supposed to be a fun business.

Stephen Bollenbach, the former Walt Disney Co. executive who is now president and CEO of Hilton Hotels Corp., will be the keynote speaker at the opening luncheon. Education sessions will cover topics including industry trends, ethnic marketing and tourism technology.

The conference is sponsored by the California Travel Industry Assn. (CalTIA) in conjunction with the California Division of Tourism. For registration information, contact CalTIA at (916) 443-3703.
