49ers’ Stokes to Undergo Wrist Surgery
Associated Press
San Francisco wide receiver J.J. Stokes probably needs surgery to repair the damage to his dislocated right wrist. The development means Stokes, the 49ers’ top draft pick in 1995, could be sidelined the rest of the season.
Stokes injured his wrist just over a week ago during practice when he made a catch and tumbled onto the field, coming down hard on his right hand when he tried to brace his fall.
Rookie Terrell Owens has replaced Stokes in the 49er lineup.
