MISSION HILLS — One man was killed and two people injured during a two-car collision early Sunday that police said might have been the result of a driver running a red light or speeding.
Joseph Stock, 61, died when his car was smashed on the driver side by a car driven by Kelliann Agner of Mission Hills, said Valley Traffic Division Sgt. Fred Meck.
The accident occurred about 6:40 a.m. as Agner was driving south on Sepulveda Boulevard and Stock was moving eastbound on Lassen Street.
Stock suffered massive injuries and was stuck inside his car. He died a short time later. Agner and an unidentified passenger both suffered minor injuries and were treated and released from Providence Holy Cross Medical Center.
Meck said no one was in custody, and officers were investigating whether the accident resulted from one of the drivers running a red light or speeding.
“I would assume that’s what happened,” Meck said. “Officers will talk to witnesses and investigate to see if one of them might have run the red light.”
